Babies Profess Love of Islam… Kinda.

Found this out through Penny Arcade, and I thought it was funny.  Apparently Fisher Price and Nintendo are converting our children to Islam.  They must be stopped. :[  j/k  While the audio clips make sense, I could care less what’s actually going on.  But it was good for the lulz.

Also, kitten bread.

Hi From 7! :D

Yeah, I’m on Windows 7 Beta 1 right now.  Install and first boot were amazingly fast, and to my surprise, it auto-detected my hardware and already had the drivers set up for every piece of my hardware.  I don’t have Logitech Setpoint, but that’s not a drive. ;O  I’m having a lot of fun with this though, and when I reformat my main drive, I may throw this on there instead, since it’ll be over around when I will reformat again.

And, I’m using a fair portion of RAM, but it’s significantly smaller than with Vista.  So, I’m happy. :D

On the 7th day, the 7th came forth.

Apparently there was a keynote today, the 7th of January, where it was announced that build 7000 of Windows 7 has been made available to Technet and MSDN subscribers.  And the Pirate Bay.  Ok, they didn’t announce that part, but it’s true.  The OS will be made available to beta test possibly as soon as this friday, maybe not until around monday.  I just noticed, too, that the wallpaper has had a Beta fish added onto it.  And it looks like Windows is still going to have flavors, since the beta is marked as Windows 7 Ultimate.

Why do I have a feeling that Windows 7 will be released July 7th at 7 AM PST, with 7 versions, and the 7th only costing 777 US Dollars? (Jason should get that last part)

So, I was watching me some AMV Hell, since I just remembered that I downloaded one and hadn’t watched it.  (AMV Hell is a collection of Anime Music Videos that play in sort clips for comedic effect.  Although, some content is a little adult due to the songs.  That’s not counting AMV Hell 0 and AMV Hell /0, which are purely Hentai/Ecchi clips.)

Anyway, while watching it, there was a parody of one of Apple’sold switch commercials, regarding watching Anime with and without subtitles.  I went to the website at the end and found that they made another, so I found Youtube links. Even if you don’t watch Anime, or even care about subs/dubs, the Mihoshi one may make you laugh.  It applies to ANYTHING that has been subtitled. xD

I’m wondering now why I’m not enjoying my intertubes instead of watching clips on my hard drive.  I mean, our internet upgraded just before I went to bed this morning, and I still haven’t been able to max out my download speed. xD

So, I’m sitting here, babysitting my cats.  Yeah, long story short: all of my cats have an upper respiratory infection that’s highly contagious to other cats.  Annnnyway, something’s been bothering me for around two months now.  What is it?

The ASPCA.  Well, it’s not so much them, as I think they do great work.  It’s the way they go about their asking for donations.

Watch this video, and you’ll probably understand.  It’s honestly one of the most annoying commercials I’ve ever seen, and that includes the freecreditreport.com commercials.  At least they’re catchy.  Those commercials are, as someone put it, way too emotional.  In my personal opinion, it achieves the opposite of what it sets out to do.  Watching that stupid thing over and over again has not made me want to donate, I now hate Sarah Mclachlan (or however it’s spelled), and she’s even ruined the song “Silent Night” in another commercial.  inb4 someone says to watch less tv: That thing is on ALL the time, I’ve seen it before like three times in one half hour show.

And for the record, I do like animals.  If you don’t believe me, come over and see how many I have. xP  It’s just that their commercials are reeeeeally annoying.

In other news, I’ve determined that I like Basshunter’s music.  Though, I’ve always like European dance music.  Anyone remember Eiffel 65 and their song “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”?  Anyway, this guy became popular in Sweden (home country) by singing about sitting in Ventrilo and playing DotA (a Warcraft 3 map), and about someone he thought was an IRC bot.  I’m going to link two videos, but, don’t let the video deter you from the beat of the song.  International music videos are just weird.

The first was really familiar to me.  Mainly the line by his (actual) mother about playing DotA all the time.  If you don’t get why, replace DotA in her line with Warhammer. ;D

I’ve started software recommendations.  The bar on the right now includes a “Software” page, with nested pages for each piece of software. Today’s additions were Firefox and CCCP, if you can’t read. ;D  One of them is a web browser, the other is a codec pack that includes media players.  I’ll probably make a new header for the page when I get around to using my desktop and have access to my resources. ;O

Windows 7

It’s weird that, after the fiasco that was the Windows Vista release, I’m actually kind of looking forward to a new Windows.  I was thinking of putting off buying it after it comes out, but if what’s promised is delivered, and I have the money, I’ll probably upgrade both my desktop and laptop to the new version.

One of the most interesting and nice features that people will find is that UAC (those annoying prompts that ask if you REALLY want to allow your mouse to interact with your computer. ;O) is customizeable.  This time around, you can set parameters.  Still not sure if it has a “remember this for next time” sort of option, for programs that you run daily and trust.

Although, UAC makes me laugh.  Why don’t I hear more about tech-savvy people being like me and making themselves the one true administrator on their Vista computer?  (Yeah, admin accounts in Vista are really standard users with a fancy name, there is only one account with true permissions)  And no, I’m not telling people how.  If you can’t figure it out, how can I trust you to browse without UAC? ;D

Gamers: There is no finite RAM limit.  Your motherboard support 60 GB of RAM? Go ahead.  Granted, if some of the performance issues of Vista are fixed in W7, I won’t need a RAM upgrade. xD

The sidebar is gone.  Gadgets can be placed directly on the desktop.  Oh wait…. Vista has that, but no one’s bothered to try to drag them off and right-click on the sidebar to throw it down into the taskbar.

Media streaming to network devices, in fact, there are certain sound systems that you can have in your house and stream music to them.  Maybe that’ll make anime streaming that much easier for me? :O  (I ran into an issue with mapping the drive over my network AND Hamachi, so I have to access the public folder over hamachi and just keep some stuff in there.)

Hopefully Microsoft will make administrators into true administrators in W7, but if they don’t, I’ll just break it like I did Vista.

You’ve got about 30 minutes to get to a safe place.

Wondering…

Does the fact that I have my anime set up so that I can watch it at school directly from my desktop hard drive make me totally horrible? xD  I was able to map a network drive using hamachi so that I can use my spiffy new internet connection to upstream to school.  So, I can watch high quality .avi files instead of youtube’s .flv files, without wasting hard drive space on my laptop.  (Which has 140 GB of space as opposed to the 1 TB of space on my desktop.)

Also, specs and pics later… Probably. xD  PvP has picked up in Warhammer, and I have more free time, so I’ve been having fun killing other players. ;O
